Our Mission and Core Beliefs:

Our Mission:

To effectively train thousands of students and adult leaders in Christian Discipleship, Evangelism, and Leadership, equipping them to be effective missionaries for Christ on their mission field every day.

Our Ministry's

Core Scriptures:

Acts 26:17b-18:

"I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me." - Jesus

1 Peter 3:15:

"But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect"

Matthew 28:18-20:

"Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always,

to the very end of the age.'”

Our Core beliefs

Scripture

(Psalm 12:6; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:19-21)

We believe the 66 books of the of the Bible (the Old and the New Testaments) to be the inerrant, holy work of God, verbally inspired in every part by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is God’s special revelation to man and completely sufficient for Christian faith and practice and the final authority in every matter.

God

(Genesis 1:1; Genesis 1:26; Exodus 3:14; Isaiah 43:10-11; Matthew 10:29-31; John 1:14, 15:26, 17:21; Ephesians 1:11; Ephesians 4:4-6; Hebrews 1:3)

We believe there is only one true God; the unchanging, eternal, self-existent, sovereign King of the universe. He is the "I AM”; the creator of heaven and earth. He is perfect in all of His ways and infinite in His attributes.

We believe in the unity and trinity of the Godhead existing in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are one God, having the same nature, attributes, and perfection. This is a foundational doctrine of the Christian faith, and is best defined in the historic Athanasian Creed.

Jesus Christ

(Psalm 110:1; Isaiah 43:10-11; Acts 10:42; Galatians 3:10-14; Colossians 1:15-22; 1 Thessalonians 4:16; 1 Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 4:14-5:10; 1 Peter 3:18)

We believe Jesus Christ is the perfect, holy Son of God. He was born of the virgin Mary and lived a sinless life. He is truly God and truly man. Jesus came to earth to redeem mankind by  living a life of perfect obedience under the law and paying the penalty for man’s sin by His death on the cross. He conquered sin and death through His resurrection from the dead, and so proved that he was truly from the Father. Jesus is the final prophet, priest, and king to which the Old Testament points. Today Jesus mediates between man and God the Father.

The Holy Spirit

(John 14:16; Romans 8:1-17; Ephesians 1:13-14; Philippians 1:6, 2:13)

We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead. The Holy Spirit convicts men of sin and brings them to repentance and a reconciled relationship with God through faith. He is responsible for the regeneration, or new birth, of a sinner. The Holy Spirit indwells and seals all who are in Christ. The Holy Spirit encourages and empowers the Christian to live a life pleasing to God.

Man and Sin

(Genesis 1:27, 2:22; Genesis 6:5; Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 3:9-18; 23, 5:12, 6:23; James 1:14-15;)

We believe man was created by God and in His image. Man was created good, without any moral or physical defect. Sin entered the world when man chose to do what God had clearly forbidden. As a result, every human being born since the Fall (excluding Jesus) inherits a sin nature. This sin nature produces an inclination towards evil, and that continually. Sin incurs punishment and wrath from God, resulting in our need for salvation.

The Work of Christ and Salvation

(John 1:12; John 3:16; Acts 4:12; Ephesians 2:8-10)

Christ. We believe that salvation is available for whosoever will believe in Him. It is to be freely offered to all, and is effective for those who believe. We believe that faith and repentance are both involved in a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. Salvation can only be obtained through the perfect sacrifice of Christ; there is no other ‘path’ or ‘way’ to God. Salvation includes surrendering fully to the will of God; we do not believe there is such a thing as ‘carnal Christianity.’

We believe there are two sacraments, instituted by Jesus Christ, which ought to be observed in his body, the church: baptism and the Lord’s supper.

Eternity and Last Things

(Matthew 13:36-43; Romans 6:23; Revelation 21-22; Revelation 20:11-15)

We believe those who have placed their trust in Christ will spend eternity in the presence of God. We believe there will be a New Earth, where the saints will have renewed and glorified physical bodies. We believe hell to be a literal reality, where the wicked are punished for their sin against God.

We believe that Jesus will return at the end of the age, in the same resurrected body in which he ascended, to judge the living and the dead.

We do not require that our guests fully ascribe to our statement of faith; however, all guest groups joining Fun in the Son Ministries at Camp Table Rock do sign a contract stating that any RELIGIOUS / CULTURAL / SOCIAL ACTIVITIES organized by the guest group will not CONFLICT with our core beliefs.

We welcome many types of groups that may not have a religious purpose to their event at Camp Table Rock (i.e. school retreats, charities, tour groups, etc). It is our belief that our statement of core beliefs enables us to better serve your group, whether or not you fully ascribe to it. We simply ask that while you stay with us, you respect the principles upon which Fun in the Son Ministries was founded.
